Your course has a topic. Ask a learner what it is really arguing and they can’t say.

Without a theme, motifs are decoration. The designer’s own test asks «How a learner would articulate the theme by the end — without ever being told it directly.»

What it does

The Theme & Motif Designer asks for the theme, up to three recurring motifs and the design test. It scores each part out of 10, maps the five as a path, quotes your most developed part back to you, and tells you when the theme never touches an argument.

Theme: what the course is really about. It’s not the subject. It’s what the subject means.

The Cinematic Curriculum Method, Appendix §3, Theme and Motif Design

What you’ll do

  1. State the theme as an argument, then write your motifs and the design test.
  2. Press «Design my theme».
  3. Work through the three moves and design again.

What you get. A thematic-coherence score out of 100 with a verdict, the five parts mapped as a path, what the analysis noticed in your own words, and three priority moves. The report downloads as a one-page PDF.
