Your course opens well and ends well. Somewhere in the middle weeks it goes flat.
The mapper names where that happens: «The middle beats — catalyst, midpoint, all is lost — are where most courses go flat.»
What it does
The Story Structure Mapper asks for seven beats: Opening Image, Setup, Catalyst, Midpoint, All Is Lost, Finale and Final Image. It scores each out of 10, maps the seven as a path, tells you when a beat never touches what it is for, and ranks three moves.
Courses need structure for exactly the same reasons. But most courses are built in reverse: topic → module → lecture → activities. This creates fragmentation. It flattens emotional rhythm. Learners drift.
