You ask colleagues for feedback. You get polite praise, or a list of fixes you didn’t ask for.

The planner watches for both, including «the failure mode of prescriptive, ownership-stealing notes.»

What it does

The Braintrust Session Planner asks for five elements: the work to review, the right people, candour and safety, notes not prescriptions, and who keeps ownership. It scores each out of 10, maps the five as a path and ranks three moves.

The Pixar Braintrust: a small group of trusted people who watch an early cut and give honest, specific feedback aimed at making the work better. Feedback focuses on the work, not the person.

The Cinematic Curriculum Method, Appendix §21, The Iterative Editing Process

What you’ll do

  1. Write each of the five elements of your session.
  2. Press «Plan the braintrust».
  3. Work through the three moves and plan again.

What you get. A critique-design score out of 100 with a verdict, the five elements mapped as a path, what the analysis noticed in your own words, and three priority moves. The report downloads as a one-page PDF.
