About

The outsider who went inside.

Cognition Blueprint exists because one conviction turned out to be true: learning is a skill, it can be designed, and the methods that prove it stayed locked inside institutions.

The founder’s story

Kevin Fenemore

Kevin Fenemore

I left school at fifteen with no qualifications. I was kicked out, and for a few years afterwards nothing about my life suggested a career in education.

At eighteen a friend offered me a job in Spain teaching rock climbing, kayaking and English to Spanish children. It paid almost nothing. It is probably still the best job I have ever had. I did not have a single credential to my name. The teaching came first; the qualifications came later, and they came the hard way.

I went to university in my mid-twenties as a mature student and never really left. I was Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for BA Filmmaking at Leeds Arts University. At the University of Bradford I was a Programme Leader, then Academic Director of Recruitment and Marketing for the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics. In São Paulo I was Dean of Faculty at EBAC, building a faculty inside a university in a second country.

Fifteen years inside higher education. Four undergraduate degree programmes designed from scratch, one of them the UK’s first BSc in Virtual and Augmented Reality, which I co-created. Hundreds of courses across FE, HE, CPD and industry. All of it alongside professional work in film, visual effects, animation and photography. You cannot teach a craft you have never had to deliver on a deadline.

For fifteen years I was paid to answer one question: what actually makes a course work? The answers exist. Validation panels know them. Programme leaders know them. They rarely leave the building, and almost nobody teaching online has been shown them.

I left academia to fix that.

What we make

Courses, books and tools. One framework underneath.

Everything here comes out of the same body of work: the research base that accredited programmes are built and defended on, translated into something you can use on the course you are building this week.

01

The courses

The flagship is the Cinematic Curriculum Method: thirteen modules that apply the structural logic of film to curriculum design.

02

The books

The Cinematic Curriculum Method, Architect of Mind, Attention Engineer and 365 Laws, Principles, and Practices for Education. The method in print, each volume standing on its own.

03

The tools

Interactive instruments that score a course against the method instead of describing it, sold as toolkits you own outright.

The record

Where the method came from.

  • Years in higher educationFifteen, across the UK and Brazil.
  • Degree programmes designedFour undergraduate programmes, built and validated from scratch.
  • Courses developedHundreds, across FE, HE, CPD and industry.
  • RolesSenior Lecturer and Course Leader, Leeds Arts University · Programme Leader and Academic Director, University of Bradford · Dean of Faculty, EBAC São Paulo.
  • Also builtFix It In Post, a national education-industry festival, and the Pipeline Pedagogy framework, developed in São Paulo.
  • PracticeProfessional work across film, visual effects, animation, photography and media, running alongside the teaching.

What we stand for

Three things, and we will be held to them.

Evidence over folklore.
Every claim traces to published research or to fifteen years of programme design that had to survive an audit. Where the evidence is thin, we say so rather than dressing it up.
Owned outright.
You buy it once and it is yours. No subscription, no renewal, no marketplace sitting between us taking a cut and setting the terms.
Designed to be finished.
On MIT and Harvard’s open online courses, 3.13% of learners who started a course passed it in 2017–18. That is a design failure, not a student failure, and it is the problem everything here is built to solve.
